04 Dec 2019 Offsite
In order to create a great experience with our games, we have to start with our team members. Although we just started this year but the team has been working hard behind the scene and we released our Alpha version early November 2019. So we decided to go overseas for our very first company offsite and South Korea sounded like a perfect place to visit. We had no specific agenda but to take a quick break from the daily routine, have fun and get closer to each other.
The weather was definitely on the colder side but that didn’t stop us from experiencing the Korean culture. We got to cosplay with Korean traditional outfit and visited the Gyeongbokgung Palace. Nami Island was also definitely a highlight due to the clean and natural surroundings.
We also got to know that our team members have some interesting facts ranging from a superhuman-like ability, played a specific instrument, well-versed in Korean, all the way to being a gaming community manager outside of work. Never judge a book by its cover!
Barriers came down extremely fast and there was a real camaraderie within the team. It showed when one of our members fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Despite the drama, all is good now!
We believe that the trip made the team stronger. Let’s face the reality, working with people might not be the easiest task. In order to be successful, team collaboration would require openness, constructive criticism, a strong desire to learn together, and a shared ambition to succeed. We are fortunate to have these qualities in the team.
